And you guys wonder why I don't want an Athlon board...
No confidence in your ability to install the right drivers?
Dude be careful, I got picked on when I said one of the reasons I was going with Intel was the stability and that it just works with almost anything with no hassle.
Some funny stuff here. The age old debate. I'm happy to have a choice between the two. I currrently use AMD because the P4's were introduced as nothing more than Intel's desire to say they had recaptured the clock speed title. Problem there tho was that as far as instructions per clock cycle go, the P4's couldn't even outperform a Morgan core Duron, let alone a P3, AMD T-Bird or XP. Add to that, that RDRAM was expensive as hell and AMD's paired with DDR ram were faster and less expensive ( read: family man who doesn't have a king's ramsom for a PC budget ). Let's face it, the Willamette P4/RDRAM combo wasn't any ground breaking technology when you consider what a nice chip the P3's were. I had a P3 700e that did 1011 GHz and ran like a champ for several months so it's not like I'm averse to playing on both sides of the fence. Once things went over a Gig tho, it was obvious that Intel was swimming upstream.Originally posted by Schwartz
Never said that, but when you step back and look at both sides I think they both earned their reps. I'm not saying that non Intel stuff hasn't improved either.![]()
