It looks like none of the regular cooling guys carries the Lasagna (miss spelled it in former posts) anymore, you could order it from http://www.tennmax.com/order.htm , the Lasagna BGA Cooler Type 0 ... though it's kinda costly.
Or you can try to find a double side selfadhesive thermalpad (as used with Lasagna Type 0) and go with a crystal orb.
Oh, you have access to some AS Epoxy? Then you can just use that on a blue or crystal orb, when you mix the AS Epoxy and add same amount ASG you get a removable mixture -> http://www.arcticsilver.com/diluting_adhesive.htm
Oh yes, I guess you could try to replace the 40mm, try to find it locally so you don't have to pay shipping and you can return it in case it doesn't fit/work out.
Actually, I don't have any adhesive, but I could get some. However, I do have this 3D VGA Cooler that I bought a while ago. I thought it was a Blue Orb, and I got it off eBay. It has some self adhesive on the bottom (I think). But, I want to know before hand if it is any good. It says it's 26dba, but I would like it quieter than that. Any pointers here?
It is a Blue Orb, just one without the mounting mechanism like the regular ones, you can put it on your NB without anything else when the thermal pad is sticky.
No, I just wanted to point out that most regular thermal pads are not adhesive at the contact side (the one that contacts GPU/NB), so you better check yours is adhesive (sticky, maybe bad word choice of mine).
Peel of the cover, see if it's adhesive and when yes, put it on your NB.
Take a pic and we might be able to identify your mysterious Blue Orb that isn't a Blue Orb http://www.thermaltake.com/tgf020.htm shows the BlueOrb with the usual two push pins clip it comes with.
