Ahhh, I see ... you could use a Lasagne model with a self-adhesive thermal pad.

It looks like none of the regular cooling guys carries the Lasagna (miss spelled it in former posts) anymore, you could order it from http://www.tennmax.com/order.htm , the Lasagna BGA Cooler Type 0 ... though it's kinda costly.

Or you can try to find a double side selfadhesive thermalpad (as used with Lasagna Type 0) and go with a crystal orb.

Couldn't I just replace the 40mm fan? Or, maybe use some ASII adhesive on a blue or crystal orb?

Oh, you have access to some AS Epoxy? Then you can just use that on a blue or crystal orb, when you mix the AS Epoxy and add same amount ASG you get a removable mixture -> http://www.arcticsilver.com/diluting_adhesive.htm

Oh yes, I guess you could try to replace the 40mm, try to find it locally so you don't have to pay shipping and you can return it in case it doesn't fit/work out.

Actually, I don't have any adhesive, but I could get some. However, I do have this 3D VGA Cooler that I bought a while ago. I thought it was a Blue Orb, and I got it off eBay. It has some self adhesive on the bottom (I think). But, I want to know before hand if it is any good. It says it's 26dba, but I would like it quieter than that. Any pointers here?

Here's what I have:

It is a Blue Orb, just one without the mounting mechanism like the regular ones, you can put it on your NB without anything else when the thermal pad is sticky.

Cool! So, I am suppose to wait until it is sticky? Can't I just take off the cover over the sticky pad thing, then just push it onto my north bridge?

No, I just wanted to point out that most regular thermal pads are not adhesive at the contact side (the one that contacts GPU/NB), so you better check yours is adhesive (sticky, maybe bad word choice of mine).

Peel of the cover, see if it's adhesive and when yes, put it on your NB.

Oh, ok.

I am comparing mine to that picture, and mine is a little different. It says:

CPU Cooler
--------------
Cooler One
--------------
Ball Bearing

I just checked, and it seems pretty sticky to me. :)

Take a pic and we might be able to identify your mysterious Blue Orb that isn't a Blue Orb :D
http://www.thermaltake.com/tgf020.htm shows the BlueOrb with the usual two push pins clip it comes with.

Here's a pic of the whole plastic thing:

Here's two pictures of the fan itself:

Ok, that's more information than I needed. Then again, you could have posted another photo

It is a Blue Orb, maybe an early OEM aftermarket VGA cooler solution that didn't make it to market in bigger numbers ?

Yeah, you're probably right. I think I will just use it. I can just SEE how un-even this 40mm fan is..
