SPARC CPU's run cool....this isn't some AMD heat kamikaze ready to burn itself up at any moment

. Probably just a custom heatsink with indents for each chip and some 120mm fan or something along those lines.

These aren't SPARCs. They're POWER (basically a superset of PowerPC.)

No, it'll be worse. The .13 micron dual-core POWER4 at 1.3 GHz disspates a max of 135 watts, which is double the fastest AMD chip out there. Consider that this module has four dual-core POWER chips (8 CPUs total) on it

it's going to need a hell of a lot more than a heatsink and fan to keep cool.

Either one hell of an efficient heat pipe or liquid cooling.

I would no doubt liquid cooling. Super computer have used liquid cooling for at least 20 years. I still have one if the original aluminum Orbs modded to fit a P3 Slot. That thing is at least ten years old!
