How much quieter is it? I know I LOVE quiet. Is it a big difference from the V2 Fan on the Sk6?? :)

seems like it's at least the same level of noise if not lower...
i like this... definitely performs well... and it's a great alternative to the sk6... albeit a more dangerous one if you're a novice

I've seen several reviews on it now, one theme to most of them was, the clips to mount it SUCK! And it has a tendancy to crush the CPU. And only $100 bucks! :D That was an excellent review you did ChottoEd.

Received an email from one who crushed his cpu core first time he installed it. Now that would suk.

Looks cool as heck though. :)

This heatsinks sports an interesting idea but its not put into action too well.
I also re-checked a couple other reviews and have to agree with sethpas conclusion: sucky mounting and possible CPU crusher.
Many suggest using a shim to prevent core crushing due to the somewhat different mounting and because the bottom plate is not large enough to contact the pads on an AMD CPU.

The review is nice but I wouldn't award a PC Abusers Choice to such a difficult and possibly dangerous product.

Especially when you can get a slightly better cooling performance with the Alpha PAL8045 and a rather lownoise 35cfm fan, not to mention the superior mounting of the PAL8045.
And all that for half the price.

so the alpha 8045 can outperform the sk6?

I didn't compare them (/me hugs his H2O cooling).
I don't read too many webpages, here is one I found:
