any suggestions out there?
After working fine for months, my Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer (USB) mouse now gets sluggish, slows down, and eventually just turns it itself off for no reason. The scroll wheel doesn't work either. It doesn't even uninstall under "remove programs."
Re-installing intellipoint 4 doesnt work either; strangely, under mouse properties, win 98 doesn't even realize i have intellipoint like it used to; it just shows the regular mouse (without the extra buttons). Dell has told me to "f" off: its a microsoft problem, and we all know how helpful THEY are... will someone please help me???
Intellimouse has Turned to the Dark Side!
PreDator is right MS hardware Support is great I have got two different Exploreer Mice replace a total of 3 times and it never took more than 3 days. If you still have the PS/2 adapter for the mouse you can try it and see if possibly it's a USB problem.
Uninstall that Intellimouse software - you don't need it. 98 can recognize the mouse just fine on it's own. That software often causes problems.
If it still acts up with the software uninstalled it's probaly the mouse. Contact MS and they'll ship you a replacement - it's a lifetime warranty. I'm on my second one.

My IE has started acting fruity as of late as well. I called 1-800-360-7561 and they sent me a free replacement. They told me it had a 5-year warranty though, not a lifetime.
Every so often I try to masturbate a large word into my conversation, even if I'm not sure what it means.
