Best Firewall for Server?

Post by Busby »

Ok My dad wants to move to keeping documents and outlook files on my server, so therefore I need a good firewall program for my server. It's Win2k Server running DHCP and Routing & Remote Access. Which would be the best? BlackICE? Zone Alarm?

zonealarm... i've been using it for over a year and it is one of the best...
best of all... it's free!...
or u can chip in a lil' more and buy a home/SOHO hardware firewall...
sonicwall's are the easiest to configure... 3com's can be a nightmare

Yeah, ZA is really nice, especially for a freeware ....you might want to go with the ZA Pro when you have to do some ICS or need to keep specific ports open (FTP server).
Another nice freeware firewall is Tiny Personal Firewall, but this is more for the advanced user who knows how to write firewall rules.
