Which Monitor For Christmas?

Post by The Scud »

I'm getting myself a new monitor and i want a 19" with good viewing quality (for Autocad drafting) and not too expensive. Please help me make my choice between those above? or if you have any suggestion that would fit in this price range $400-$500 Can.

Thanks

Right now i have a 15" Goldstar Studioworks 55i...!!!!! yeah i know it's very out of date!!!! but i find this monitor better than 17" that i've seen.

check over at dell - i got a 19" nec for 220 shipped after coupons and with free shipping - they had fancier ones there as well - they are very agressive in their pricing right now

I just bought a MAG 19" for $180 shipped from Best Buy after a $70 rebate that expired saturday 12/8. I was there just looking for 21" monitors (my preferance really) but saw the MAG listed at $150 after rebate and thought it looked OK for my spare, #2 XP PC (now using an old POS 15" monitor :( ) but naturally there were non left in the store or any other of 3 local BBs so I had to order it online where I also printed the $70 rebate and dated receipt for the monitor. S&H is only $32 so for $180 plus tax, it's still a good price for a 19" monitor IMO.
They normally list for $219 at BBs site online.

Samsungs are beautiful monitors, although I am quite happy with my Viewsonic PF775

Of those three, the Samsung

the 955DF is a very nice monitor. One of the LAN gaming places around here uses those monitors, and they look very sharp.

However, the "flat screen" is a lie. The screen is flat, but the tube isn't. There's still a slight curvature. Of course, my job is to sell computers, so if customers ask, the answer is "yes" :D

My MAG 19" showed up today too, just 2 days after being shipped UPS ground and it arrived in one piece (more than I can say about my first Viewsonic 19" shipped, took 3 trys) BUT the picture looks pretty decent too, even in games. S&H was about $32 so after the rebate (now expired) it'll cost me $180 shipped. I was planning on a $400 21" before which would have been nice (no doubt) but I couldn't say no to this one. No complaints.

I have a write in vote for any of the 9xx series from LG. Easily the best monitors for the money. I have a 995E Studioworks and it is great.
