Post by fearfox »

how do you turn off the firewall included with the linksys router. for some filesharing programs i cannot download but on some i can. On the programs i cant is because of the firewall. Any links or help or advice is greatly appreciate it. Thanks

You could try puttig the PC into the DMZ and see if that work for you. If not try updating the router's firmware. I know there were some problems with Messenger and file transfers until a recent firmware update. The updated firmware is readily available from the Linksys website.

I would still try what I suggested with the DMZ and then the firmware and if that doesn't work look into port forwarding on the router or configuring your application to know it is behind the a router/firewall if possible.
