ok...seeings how we had a Nice little talk about anime I decided to run an anime weekend at my house.

Info:

JAN 4-6 say 5:00pm that friday - 6:00pm sunday
Come and go as you please
2 viewing areas presently....might get a third set up
around 150 anime DVD's to choose from presently

Other stuff:

Food:

Ill have some pop on hand but bring some if U got some
one pizza run a day (request $5 per person)
Requestyou bring your own snacks but Ill have some chips on hand

Parking:

Driveway can handle about 10-12 cars
and the street isnt bussy so we can also park there and they dont ticket here so No biggy about over night parking

Sleeping:

find a spot on the floor and use it...or go home...

Movies:

like I said befor I have about 150 anime dvd's. Presently Idont have a master list. so if there is a Movie you want to make sure is shown just PM me and Ill let you know if I have it or you can bring it if you have it.
Probably watch a few non anime flicks aswell but they will be few and far between.

Viewing areas:

room 1...36" hdtv, progressive scan dvd player, & full DTS suround. couch, chair, counter with 5 tall seats, some folding chairs and the Floor.

room 2...27", 3disk dvd player, and I have a suround system for up there but is presently NOT set up. Couch, 2 stools, some folding chairs, and a Carpeted floor.

Posiable Third room...27-32", proscan dvd player, another suround system for out there. bunch of chairs and a carpeted floor.

so ED U and DAN gana come? I hope to have a nice little gathering...minimum of 10 I hope. anyways if U can come or want to invite people all are welcome. I was thinking Anime this month....action a month or 2 later and see how that all goes.

that sounds liek a good idea..yea Help me.

actually this came about cause people on chicagogamers were talking about anime and many of them havent seen any or only a few and some havent even heard of it. so I figgured a nice little show and tell would do the trick.

As much fun as this sounds (and being I LOVE anime, it sounds great!) I work that weekend and I also couldn't afford getting down there anyway. Maybe you should do a version of this during the next PCA picnic. (Which I will try my darnest to get to this year.)

I would LOVE to see some good Anime on that 36" HDTV with the progressive scan DVD player.....ooooo....sounds great! Take a picture of that setup will 'ya? Pick a good anime to play when you take the picture!

Quick Anime Question:
What is the differance between the Akira "metal box set" and the Akira "2-disc THX Widescreen Special Edition"? (I know the special Edition has been totally remastered, both video and audio [it's also mentioned as akira2001 once on the back of the set].) Someone gave me Akira SE for Christmas, and which I don't ever plan to let it out of my hands, it got me curious when you mentioned it.
[edit]........I found out it's pretty much the same thing only you got a cool metal keep case for it.
