The return of the BRITISH version of Junkyard Wars this Wednesday!

Post by FlyingPenguin »

For those of you, like me, who like the British version of the show better than the American version (Robert Lewellen, the British host, is WAYYY funnier than the American host), looks like they're going to start running the British shows this Wed, 9pm.

Red Dwarf - he was the robot wasn't he? Never watched the show much, but I'd catch it once in a while.

You guys ever hear the story behind Junkyard... err Scrapheap?

The creator and producer is the female host Cathy Rogers. She was inspired by the scene in the movie Apollo 13 when the engineers had to figure out how to adapt the command module's CO2 scrubbers to the Lunar Module's air system with only a pile of odds and ends that were available on the space craft.

She never planned on being one of the hosts - the first season it was just Robert Lewellen, but the director decided that Robert needed a female co-host to play off of and when they couldn't find a suitable actress to fill the role they drafted her and initially she was very reluctant.

Lot's of info on their website at Discovery.com
