One thing I don't like about it is it uses it's own battery type, not aa rechargable. 3x optical zoom is good, digital zoom is a waste because when you use it quality gets less and less(it just enlarges the center). Otherwise it looks like as good one. I'm not real familar with most of the newer ones but check out these sites for better info.

Thanks for the links buddy, alot of good info there. The battery doesn't bother me much, If do get it, I'll just buy an extra battery. What camera would you get?

I'm trying to choose between the S30, and the Nikon Coolpix 885,
Decisions, decisions :bonk

Compare their reviews, seems the canon has just a bit more. And the nikon has no rechargable battery with it and the replacements are higher.

make sure you check out sony- despite proprietary memory sticks, the quality, ease of use, and features are excellent.

Whoa! Good point dude, the 885 only comes with a one-use 2CR5 battery. You have to buy the battery and charger separately. Those 2CR5 batteries get expensive at ~$6.00 each.

phried, Sony's got some nice stuff but I really can't get past the proprietary memory sticks

I'm getting the S30 :w ow
