Need recommendation on a case...

Post by PreDatoR »

I'm lookin' at getting a new case but not real sure what i want to get... Possibly thinking about getting a Full tower case cause my AOpen HX45a is just too cramped. Or a Larger sized Mid Tower. What are some good roomie cases to get that won't cost more than 100 shipped? And a good case to put a couple holes in to add some extra cooling.

Antec SX830 or SX1030 are great and right about your price range. I have a SX830 and absolutly love it. You can add blowholes if you like but if you put fans in all four of the fan holders there really is no need for it. Can't say enough good about them.

i second the Antec series, great cases :)

they also make a black version if u r into that, there's an extra b at the end of the model #

and they also make an 840 or 1040 if u want a 400watt PS

Palo Alto 810. Ventilated like a motherscratcher, takes E-ATX boards (like the infamous Thunder K7). 92mm front, 120mm rear fans.

definitely check out antec performance series case (sx1030, sx1030b, sx830.....) these things are built like tanks, plenty of room inside, drive rail and removeable drive cage makes swapping drives a walk in the park. plenty of ventilation with 2 80mm fan in front, and 2 80mm on the back near cpu. you could get one for about $100. I think kdcomputers(link on the bottom of this page) has them for 99 and free shippin. get some other goodies like fan connectors and other cool stuff cheap while you are there.

I think i'm gonna go with the 1030B. I know its the same case as the beige but the beige color to me just looks goofy... The black looks pretty smooth though... All my drives are different color but with the cover who will ever see them. Thanks for all the input its been much appreciated.

I would second the Antec SX series, but also look at the Fong Kai FK-320. ( Directron has 'em) I have one, and it is absolutely beautiful. Its just over 20" high, the same size as an Antec SX800. I think its deeper though. I love the way it looks, and overall it is just a top quality case.

I have the SX840. Very nice case, easy installs. My next case will have a removeable mobo tray though. :)

I don't like the clips, I will be doing some modding and screwing the fans in to cut down on noise. Nice cases!
