I had to abandon ship last night.

Post by smb »

I ive in San Marcos TX along the Blanco river, actually about 500 ft away. It rained all day yesterday, and the river went past the flood stage and was creeping up the road. So, at about 9:00 p.m. I jammed a bunch of stuff in the car, and went to a friends house. I returned this morning to find everything still intact.

Hey smb,

Could you send some of that rain over to the Houston/Galveston area? We're pretty dry over here and need some rain.

We got lucky this time, 4 years ago, it was a different story. My dad gave me this house, and I've put alot of time and money into it. I thought I was going to lose it all.

Good to see that the rain didn't get the best of ya. The rain was tryin' it's best up on the other side of Austin too.

The construction on 183 has our drainage at the shop totally screwed up. We had about 2 inches of water flowing through the building for awhile yesterday afternoon.

glad you did not have to fight the water damage..........it is heart breaking to work so hard and lose everything. On a moments notice what do you say? we have lots of special things but hammer would be carrying out the computers and if I was lucky he would leave room for me ;)

I didin't evevn know it was that close. I went outside to feed the cats, and seen the ploice had closed the road. So I asked them what was up, and they said they were asking everyone to leave because the water was expected to rise another 24 feet.
