FYI on Arctic Silver II

Check this out, I was installing a new board (Asus P4T) on my P IV rig and while putting the heatsink on, I realized I was out of AS2. I really didn't want to use that cheap white crap even though I did have some.

Now, I knew that I had pushed the plunger all the way down on my last use, then tossed the syringe in my tool tray. I thought maybe if I pull the plunger out, there will be just enough, at the bottom of the syringe for what I need.

When I pulled out the plunger I discovered one of the channels on the plunger was half filled with Arctic Silver II, enough for at least 5 or 6 more installations :;

It appears that while pushing the plunger down some of it, rather, ALOT of it! worked it's way between the syringe wall & the plunger and backed up onto the plunger stem



Anyway! the moral of this story boyz & girlz is Check the plunger before you Toss that Tube . . ahh Syringe, whatever

"Arctic Alumina Compound cleans off easily from CPUs and heatsinks." Now that's the part I like as will anyone who got Arctic Silver II on things they didn't wish it was on like that tender cpu core and trying to remove it. Wasn't easy was it.

only problem is... you should be using a thermal pad, not thermal compound for a p4
