Anyone still have a Celery rig out there...?

Post by Lazlo Panaflex »

Everyone seems to be firmly entrenched in the "Gig" club these days (and I'm getting the upgrade itch.) Anyhoo, does anyone still use a good ol' Celery box as their main gaming rig?

btw, here's mine:

Celery II 566@850 w/ G.Orb
Abit BM6
384MB RAM
27GB WD 7200 ATA/33
SBLive! X-Gamer
Viper 770 TNT2 Ultra ---> finally replaced w/ GF3 Ti 200 (w00t!)
Toshiba 40X IDE CD-ROM
Yamaha speakers (next to go)
Zip 250
HP 2X burner
Intellimoose Optical
Hitachi 19"
Win98 SE

Peace Out ---

We have a cleron 400 running a Linux server at our house, does that count? ;)

My old C366@567mhx, V3 2000 PC running XP Pro still plays all my games just fine at 1024x768 res. Not as well as the newer PC but still not bad.

Yep, I still have a Celeron as my main gaming rig.

Celeron 533A @800 MHz
Abit BX6 Rev. 2 (latest BIOS)
256 MB Crucial PC-133 RAM
IBM 10.1 GB 5400 RPM hard drive
Diamond MX-300 sound card with Aureal reference drivers
Creative Labs Annihilator Pro with Nvidia 21.83 drivers
Toshiba 40X CD-ROM
19" Viewsonic GS-790 monitor
Windows 98SE

Also, it runs Quake!

vQ3 @ 1024x768x16 - 81 fps
TA @ 800x600x16 - 135 fps

Hopefully, soon I'll be able to put this rig out to pasture and have a new GHz rig with a GeForce 3

I have the parts to my former gaming machine, which was a Celeron.

Celeron 366@550
Abit BE6 mobo
Voodoo 3 2000 PCI
Generic Case and 250W PSU
I think a 10 Mbit NIC too

I have a 1.2GB harddrive just sitting around. No extra memory though :( I wanna set it up as a Linux box but i need a better HD and some memory and I have no $$$$.
