new 1.4 bird is rockin' !!

Post by VidmanII »

Just slapped in a 1.4 t-bird. Didn't mess around with any default speed BS and took it right to 10x161 (1.61 GHz) in the BIOS just for laughs and sure enough, it runs no problemo up there! Hard to beat for $116 shipped from newegg. It's an AYJHA stepping.

Basics of system:
SK6 w/ Delta 38cfm
Iwill kk266 (rev 1.2)
C-media 8738 o/b sound
Sparkle 350w
Tonicom 256MB fastest settings possible w/ 4-way interleave @ 161 FSB
Radeon 64 ddr vivo
2 x 30 WD 300BB's doing RAID 0 ( Hpt370 PCI controller card)

schweet !!!!!:+
AMD Ph II X4 955 BE 3.2 @ 3.8 GHz | Scythe SCSMZ-2000 | ASRock 880GMH/USB3 | 8 GB G.Skill DDR3 1600 | Radeon HD5670 | Kingston 128GB SSD

cripes that must be some good ass memory ...
yeah... i concur... AYJHA kicks a lotta ass... intel is gonna have a hard time shaking amd...
it's a shame amd's stock has taken such a tumble in the recent months...
but if it's any time to buy... i guess now is it... dirt cheap people...

What's your temps like? I'd be curious what it is at 1.4 and the difference going to 1.6.

And congrats :D

temps are 26C-28C idle and 44-46C full load @ 1.6, using WPCREDIT BIOS hack (register 52=EB )
Inwin full tower with 3x80mm case fans:
1 intake front
2 blowing out, (rear at cpu and above pwr supply)
1 120mm fan in a blowhole ( intake ) in the side panel blowing in at the AGP slot and cpu.

core voltage is 1.87 according to via hdware monitor. Haven't tried it at 1.4 and prolly won't as I don't want it (cpu) to think it's less than a 1.6 !! :D

I got the same 1.4 AYHJA from Newegg for $117 shipped
It's at 1.6ghz @133 CAS222 1.8v with Iwill KK266-RAID
I haven't tried any higher than 1.6ghz, maybe sometime next week after I burn in.
My temp is 27C idle and 36-38C full load using watercooling

I bumped it to 1.61Ghz at 1.85v
Idle is 26C and Full load at 34-36
it's weird how temp dropped

My 1.33 cruises at 1.6 no problem.. 12x133 i've just got a Taisol on it and it runs abou 44c full load... As long as its stable and not pushing the point of meltdown i don't care what the temp looks like lol
