I have 2 sticks of 256mb PC133 CAS3, but what the hell am I going to do with a stick of DDR?
ANyways, try a different manufacturer of chips on the DDR ram. Micron has caused some problems in the past with incompatibilties... i know.... anyways, see if there is a BIOS update from ECS that may fix that prob

Yes I am a thread crapper!
Hey. It's registered ECC.
There is one BIOS update later than what I am running... but using it will take away my FSB tweaking ability... I'll apply that update and see if the DDR works... I kinda doubt that it will, though...
Edit--the BIOS update has been applied, and the K7S5A still does not run with the registered ECC 256mb PC2100.
I've looked at the OCWorkbench BBS, in the ECS forum, and have seen several comments there indicating that Crucial ECC DDR does work if it's not the registered variety. Oh well...
The stick is still for trade... for some good unbuffered PC2100, or for some good unbuffered PC133. This 1.4G Athlon kicks butt whatever kind of RAM is on the board, anyway!

Registered RAM is only for servers with vast quantities of RAM in them. Most consumer mobo's won't support it... and even if they do you don't need it unless you're running some mega server. Just an FYI.
