Lets see....the tradition in that area of the world is an eye for an eye right??? Well they took a lot of eyes from us. It may be thousands of innocent eyes. I think that we should respect their traditions, and take a few eyes of our own. I am tired of our country trying to be everyones friend. Guess what they dont like us, and they just showed it. If afghanistan is hiding who did this, then afghanistan gets bombed to $hit until they cough him up. Then once we have him, or them, we let them loose on the streets of NY with a big sign on their back that tells everyone who they are. If they make it across the bridge to NJ, then we hang them during a live broadcast around the world.

The rules of engagement are being ignored by the enemy, so why should we obey them??? Ignoring them ourselves makes us as bad as them you say???? Well guesss what, I hope all your morality keeps you warm at night, cause it didnt help those poor people buried alive under 100's of tons of rock. Do you think that the firefighters buried in the rubble trying to save anyone, are proud of our high moral standards? No....If they live,they are pissed off...And why....why do terrorists pick us and not Russia? Cause they know that the Russians will find them, and rip them limb from limb. But the US???? Well we are too civilized for that we just dont do things so horrible.

Whatever happened to speak softly and carry a big stick??? Now it seems we speak loudly and carry a wet noodle. Things need to change.

As some of you mentioned talking all big and bad means nothing if we really don't do anything as we have done in the past. Once we know for sure who is responsible we need to squash them hard, REAL HARD!

If it's one country then we need to make that country dissappear. Examples MUST be made but they must be the true culprits or we accomplish nothing.

I'm sure more of the culprits are still here and getting ready to finish what they set out to do. We must be alerrt and very careful.

I'd say yes, and I'd also say they had HIGHER morale standards than most of us do, otherwise they wouldn't be firefighters. They are the last heros as far as I'm concerned - few of us have the guts to do what they risk daily. 80 cops may have also died in the rubble, men who also believe in the moralities and laws of this country. Their brother police also crave vengeance I'm sure, but they'll do it within the bounds of our laws because it's what they believe in.

Vidman, based on what you're saying, your rationale is we should have exteriminated ALL Germans and Japanese then during the course of World War II just to play safe - or at least forcably evicted them from this country and it's territories?

I have a lot of Japanese friends.... and I'd dearly miss Sushi.

Seriously, aren't we more mature than to indescriminantly blame a WHOLE racial group for the sins of a few, or even a government?

THINK ABOUT THIS: By your arguement then, all us Americans should individually be held accountable for any acts of our government - essentially what most terrorists themselves use as a rationale for abduction and murder of American citizens. At that point you HAVE lowered yourself to their level.

I choose rational civilization over the knee-jerk reaction that ran this world until the 19th century, thank you. We have laws, and if we fail to follow our own laws and rules WHO will respect us?

There will come a time when justice will be metted out for what happened today.

I'm in agreement with the President about equaly punishing any country harboring these bastards - it's high time we stopped pussy-footing around.

But irrational emotional responses won't get us anywhere - we need to punish the guilty and their accomplices. Anyone who protects them is also an accesory to murder. This will take a MASSIVE criminal investigation. It will take time. This isn't a Clancy novel - in the real world we can't just zoom a camera in on the bad guys from orbit and send a mini-cruise missile after them.

Meanwhile, insulting or accosting the poor innocent guy who works in the next office cubical just because he is from a Muslim country accomplishes NOTHING and sets us back to before the 60's as far as racism is concerned.

We're better than that - what I saw on TV today proves it.

Ironically G.W. was doing an education speech down in Florida. I say we educate these bastards.

I love my country and dedicated 9 years to defending it, it saddens me that my fellow Americans had to pay such a high price, We all paid a high price today.

Of course, now that the carnage has ended, those scared little pissants are coming out of the woodword condeming the act. where were these f_ckers before ?

When something tragic happens we all will react differently and sometimes may change our thinking after we calm down. But DAMMIT REMEMBER the victims here and yes we will get the enemies. But don't resort to this petty arguing ok. If you don't agree with another then keep it to yourself, talk about what happened instead please

I never talked about exterminating anyone! I'm saying that by having all these Islamic extremists LIVING in our country, we are susceptable to attacks like we saw today. How do you know the guy in the cubicle next to you is innocent? If the Germans had attacked our soil in World WarII and were LIVING here in our country, don't you think we'd have the right to ask them a few questions? But trying to get you to comprehend that seems futile. I'm not surprised. You seem so worried about some dipshit Islamic's rights when in fact YOU were the one who posted that disgusting thread that trampled ALL OVER the sensibilities of the mentally disabled people of OUR OWN country.

The last time the WTC was bombed, they ( Islamic fundamentalists) used MY STATE (NJ) for the staging of the attack. I won't have it anymore !!

I went to work in a high rise bldg today about halfway between NYC and DC. Let me tell you it was not a fun feeling. Do I think after what transpired today that I think people in the muslim communites should be questioned as to any involvement? You're damn right I do. And If they have to throw everyone of them out of the country to make it safer, I'm down with that too. You want to call that discriminatory, too bad. There was an attack on the entire free world today and both incidents happened within 2-3 hours drive of my house. The enemy is Islamic fundamentalists. They are living here in our country. That you cannot deny.

One major thing about these actions stand out that's real scary, now the terrorists have found a very destructive way to kill. Who would of thought a jet crashing into a building as great and as tall as the world trade center would be enough to completely destroy it. They accomplished far more than they thought possible. Obviously the crash and resulting fire collapsed the floors below and beneath creating a domino effect that got worse as more weight was behind it. Simply amazing that would completely destry the world tade center.

Now they know they will probably try this tactic again and again. Steps need to be taken, drastic steps and the perpitrators need to be found out asap.

i remember watching an interview on CBS between Dan Rathers and a former Chicago CBS anchorwoman this morning. she had narrowly escaped death when a fireman pushed her into a wall and covered her with himself as a human shield when the 2nd tower collapsed. her account of the dead around her was truly heartfelt by us. the words atrocity and diaster don't even begin to do justice to describe the situation.

today, we've seen and felt how cruel and evil, this world can be. however i must say, that those men and women who reached out and tried to help those in need reflect the pure goodness of the human spirit.

God bless America in its time of need.

I am not trying to start any arguments. And your right we should not fight amongst each other, but you might want to look at it this way. Playing the good guy has gotten us where? We have lost perhaps thousands of people, (on an average day there are perhaps 20-90 thousand people in the buildings and in the surrounding area) That is more than some cities!!!! As far as I am concerned they as much as dropped a nuke on one of our cities. And being born and raised in NYC, it is especially enraging. They stepped up and took a $hit on my front lawn, threw it at the house, and then set the place on fire. And they have the nerve to dance in the streets celebrating. Do I hold all Palistinians responsible for this act...YES!... Does that make me a bad person??? Maybe, but too bad.....Our fellow countrymen/women, and my fellow New Yorkers were held responisible for supporting Israel. Most of us could'nt give a rats ass about Israel, but did that stop them??? No, so I think turnabout is fair play.

As far as the fire and police go, they are the bravest people in the city right now. They do it because they love the city, they love the people. But honestly those that are trapped, if they still live, I dont think it is morality that is keeping them alive. I think it is the thoughts of their family first, and the thought that if they live they might get to see the terrorists head on a stick.

Yeah I have passed from shock to anger and hate. Most times morality kicks in, and I try to look at both sides of things. But now, I dont care about their side. I dont care about the west bank, or that they are oppressed, or that they are mistreated, and branded. All I care about is that My city, My country was attacked without provocation, by a COWARD who dosent have the balls to stand up and fight like a man.

You act as though our country is the only one suffering...you are truly showing your ignorance and stupidity. What happened today is but a mere speck of what the rest of the world knows as horrific. To condemn all for the actions of a few is a very stupid thing. If you want to be my enemy, fine, I don't need any more morons bothering me. I know today was horrible, and I, just as many others feel horrible, but your actions are realing only showing how little you know of the real world.

I felt a lot of sorrow today as our complex came to a halt and the giant screens lit up with the news flash of this gutless cowardly attack on the USA. I for one completely agree with Vidman!
This was a very well planned/ochestrated attack on the US and to my way of thinking someone or nation had to finance such a strike, years of training years of infiltrating into trusted postions at airports maybe? I would say something like this could have been planned years ago maybe....but the bottom line is somebody or nation had to finance this and if it is a nation that has financed this gutless attack then my feeling would be a scorched earth policy against the regime/country that had it's hand dipped in this blood!

I am not sorry that i feel this way because we have our problems here as well, we are now rejecting ships with illegals/ Afghans mostly people of the faith in question and all of a sudden we are the dogs of the earth. We have gangs of middle eastern youths driving around in cars abducting young australian females and pack raping them saying that "You deserve it cause you are Australian.

I was born and raised in this country and our problems escalated once we started allowing this crap into our country.

My family was at the receiving end awhile ago sbp will remember the gun thread at the old forums and my anger stems from back then as people of that very Faith were responsible for the inhumane treatment of my family "the time i wished i was armed".

Another shock announcement today on our local radio was that at a couple of Schools Lebanese students were celebrating the fact that so many innocent Americans died and were partying to that affect before they were warned by the school administrators. Again the owners of several Cafe lounges had rung in on the talkback line's some of them in a very distressed state telling how they witnessed as did other customers witness groups of mostly young middle eastern people partying it up and
celebrating this attack. Don't take my word for it it should hit our newspapers tommorrow if they have the guts but it's sure as hell all over the talkback airwaves.

PS: This pansy footing around by both our goverments on this type of issue "type of content allowed into the country" is just not working. I have experienced it first hand, and to anyone that wants to chew my head off please do not do that unless you yourself have been on the receiving end and know what pain and heartache is!

I've been around the world enough to know a bunch of murderous bastards when I see them. For my money, there are FAR too many of them livng right here under our noses. I'll stand on my statements that Islamic fundamentalists are indeed the enemy.

I don't believe in being politically correct. This , unlike yours, is a free country where lively debate and discussion is not against some f*cked up mullah's bullshit rules. There is plenty of hostility directed at Americans overseas as witnessed by the dancing dogs in the streets of the middle east.
