It is now comming out that they are saying it looks like the kind of attacy that Benloton guys style but also some other palastine place is taken credit.
They are also saying a min of 10k deaths....This is Totaly depressing. I hope we really get some stuff taken care of after all this. I am a proud American and i want vengance. I wana see a country blown up!

Intelligence community SHOULD HAVE gotten some inkling of this!!! WTF!!!!

This is a HUGE complex and well timed plan! 3+ airliners all hijacked at the SAME TIME? An no pilot would WILLINGLY ram a building - even at gunpoint. He'd put it in the ground first (maybe that's what happened in Pittsburg?).

So assume one pilot on each terrorist team (this isn't a video game - aiming a 757 at a specific building is NOT easy for a non-pilot).

F@CK!!!!

Sit tight guys, it's going to be a sad and wierd week. Although no one has officially said so, I would count on the fact that we're at Defcon 2 right now, and the last time that happened we nearly started tossing nukes at the Soviet Union (Cuban Missile Crisis).

RE: Stock Markets - any data should be safely backed up (at least as of yesterday) so worst happens we restart trading in a week or more where we left off yesterday. Don't panic and start playing with your stocks or funds - I don't really expect this to hurt the market overall, and remember most of us are investing in the long run. (I'm no financial expert, just my opinion - consult with a financial specialist if you're concerned). Nothing will happen until the markets re-open and I doubt it'll be until next week.

Any banks in the building would also have backups, so financial records will be insured. Don't forget these firms plan for disasters, especially fire. And since the last attack on the World Trade Center, even more so.

I'm not all that religious nowadays, but I'm saying some prayers for those who lost their lives today. I think we all should, and for the families who've lost loved ones. My heart goes out to them all. :(

Words can not describe the sorrow I feel for all of the people that lost thier lives today and thier families. It's time to stop handling these terrorists groups with kid gloves. If we do not act this time the United States will be viewed as weak and these type of actions I'm afraid will probably continue.

My thoughts and sympathys go out to those injured and killed and their families, this has to be the most terrible act of terrorism every perpetrated.

This looks to me like a highly organised strike against the US trying to send a message of fear to the world. I hope they find the group responsible and arrest them before any more attacks happen. It might be worth remembering though that you can't hold everyone in a country or community responsible for the acts of a small number of fanatics (as these people obviously are).

Unbeleivable!!!! I am sorry but it is time to take severe action against terroist groups. The problem has got way out of hand and has far as I am oncerned overkill is justified. I say it is time to declare war against Benlouten and his kind.

My prayers for all those who have suffered loses because of todays events

This is horrible. My condolences go out to the families of the victims.
Although I am Canadian I feel like a bloodbrother to my American neighbors and I love your country.
Get those bastards !!!!!!!!!
Is there a death penalty in NY state?
All airports in Canada are now closed as well but we are accepting US flights that are diverted..I hope Canada can hell out the US in this time of tragedy.
take care of each other ...
God Bless

I found out just before the second tower collapsed. I just keep watching the news as people die...

5 planes crashed now.

Two more planes supposedly missing...

Not often do tears leave my eyes, but on this day, I am truly shameful of the human race.

I go to the University of Louisville. We are only about 50 miles from Fort Knox, and have a campus there. All classes are canceled until further notice.

I am personally in shock. We pulled out the tv in the lab where I work to watch what was going on. We were all scared that more and more attacks would happen. The SysAdmin's wife is at a conference in Washington, D.C. He was kind of calm, but his wife called and he said he could hear her shaking while holding the phone.

I am also concerned about oppurtunistic countries who might see this as a time to attack us more frontally. I am sure there are people thinking and or planning attacks on our foreign embassies right now.

Heh, the US might actually get some foreign aid this time. After going about 200 years, running mostly autonomously, I think we deserve a little help from our friends.

This is terrible news. i could scarcely believe it this morning when I heard it on the radio. My thoughts and prayers go to those in New York and the people who had friends and relatives on the 4 airplanes that crashed.

I getting ready to drive from Houston to Mobile Alabama. My wife was supposed to fly home from Mobile today, so rather than wait until the airports open up again (who knows how long that will be) my daughter and I are going to pick her up.

The more I think about it, the more organized this had to be.

NO WAY the friggin' Intelligence community should have let this happen.

Think about it:

- A LARGE group of people had to be moved into this country (these were domestic flights).

- Their weapons had to be smuggled in or purchased here.

- Their weapons had to be smuggled onto the plane - this is a LOT harder to do with RELIABILITY. Sure you can get some of these plastic guns in once in a while and something like that new cellphone gun, but the fact is that modern metal and X-Ray scanners STILL can see the bullets unless you disguise them in certain ways. IT CAN BE DONE, but think about the fact that at least 3 or more hijaak teams had to do this, all within the same time frame, and the planners had to be fairly confident that SOMEONE wouldn't be caught. Maybe INSIDE job on stashing weapons in the planes? Even more frightnening.

- They were CONFIDENT enough to assume that at least 3 (or more) hijackings would go without a hitch (no airport security hassles, no one late for the flight, flight itself not major delayed)

- Incredible timing.

- Training - the only way something like this could go off with this kind of timing is a LOT of training and planning.

- Personnel - as I mentioned above, I don't think you could count on forcing a pilot to crash a plane into a specific building. MAYBE one but three? I'd count on the fact that the hijackers had a pilot with them. He'd not necessarily be a licensed airline pilot, but he'd be a pilot and have to have some familiarity with airliners. These things are NOT that easy to fly THAT precisely into a target.

We have a LOT of dedicated people KNOWING they will die, pulling off a feat of incredible timing and precision, using a lot of assets. There's only a few (we're talking 2 or 3) terrorist organizations that are sophisticated enough to pull this off, assuming it's not something even more bizarre (Russian harddliners seeking revenge? Crazy? Hey so is the though of THREE simultaneous airplane attacks on buildings).

This is BIG... somewhere someone should have seen this coming.
