D2:LOD question

Post by kin »

Hi all,
Trying to finish D2 but I got the expansion pak for the sweet 800x600 graphics conversion.

Question is converting the standard charcter to expansion. If I finish playing through D2 with the standard character, will it not let me into the expansion because my character is not expansion????

I probably will also not be able to access all the worthwhile additional features.

I am still early on into D2, so I won't loose much time except I think during the conversion, none of the equipment and stuff comes through. :( Starting over is a pain. :(

Thoughts please.

Thanks

Pretty sure you can simply convert regular D2 characters to the LoD expansion but not the other way around...

You keep your equipment in conversion... I'm pretty sure (though not 100%).

You don't lose anything with the conversion, but, if you have a high level character, it could be hurt by the new play balance that's been incorporated with the LOD expansion and latest patches. High level of over 50 or so.......... You may end up with items in inventory you can't use anymore, or they may be weakened considerably.
