Post your audio rig

Post by poop »

I figure there are plenty of computer rig listings, how about audio?

My main audio set up consists of:
Computer :)
Ensoniq AudioPCI
Paradigm Titan v2
JBL/Urei 6260 150 w/channel (8 ohm) amp

My source is surprisingly good. I was thinking about getting a Delta Audiophile 24/96 sound card, but my AudioPCI sounds very nice. The S/N ratio was my biggest concern, and I can crank the volume to the max, and I get 0 noise. As far as DAC quality goes, I think it is sufficient. The speakers are not nearly good enough to justify a nicer DAC.

I plan to sell the amp/speakers soon and pick up a pair of Mini Monitors and a CC-370 to go with a Denon AVR-1601 for my HT/music set up. I just need to find out if I got that new job. :)

Running:

Diamond Monster sound MX400
Sony amplifier
Sony center and rear channel H/T speakers
Yamaha L/R channel speakers

The Yamaha's aren't computer speakers though, they're more like concert speakers....These things get f**k'in loud....200rms and I know the amplifier isn't throwing that many watts into them...I really want a Dolby digital receiver though, anyone donating one to charity??

Computer system:

SB Live value digital out (VERY soon to be replaced with Phillipcs rhythmic edge)
Carver m2040i (40x2/80x1 watts RMS) car amp running off a 250watt PS
Crap sherwood surround speakers running as L+R

Decent sound, gets a bit harsh at high volumes, but overall more than enough for pretty much well anything

Home Theatre:

Pioneer vsx-d608 receiver
Pioneer dv-525 DVD player
Toshiba 32inch TV (5 year old)
DIY speakers, soon to be rebuilt with lighter cabinets, then sold, and I'll build new ones with Hi-Vi F8's and a Dayton silk dome tweet
Sub - Pioneer s-w205, 12inch 200watts RMS, soon to be sold and replaced with a 250watt plate amp and a 15inch DVC sub with 32mm linear stroke...the sub models @ reference level (105db @ 30hz) in an anechoic room...in room that should be a minimum of 110db :D
Monster video 2 Svideo cable running from DVD player straight to TV, generic optical cable from DVD player to receiver......AR 25ft sub cable.......12g 512 strand speaker cable with single banana's on receiver side and dual bananas on speaker side.

Oh, and I dont have the time, money, or willingness to build and run cable for surround speakers, so I'll just build awesome fronts and be (very) happy with those :)
Main rig: Intel e2140 @ 3.0ghz, Asus P5K-E, 2x1gb Kingmax 1066mhz, 36gb 15k Fujitsu MAU, 500gb Maxline Pro,
