Problem with Theme Hosp. Game

I'm having a problem that is becoming a big pain in my butt. Everytime I play Theme Hospital (I know corny game, but it floats my boat), after about 3 minutes of play it crashes back into Windows. My computer meets the specs that are recommended for the game. Pred installed the "patch" that came with the game, and it still pops back into Windows. I'm clueless (in more than one way), anyone have any suggestions or fixes? TIA

Welcome! A couple of questions back at you, is this the only program that gives you this problem? And what operating system are you using? Make sure you have the latest drivers for your video card. Maybe someone else here, actually knows something about this game.

Her Os is Win98se. Vid card is a Viper 550 with the Detonator 6.5 drivers. I think that game uses Direct Draw. I've tried everything with it but it boots you back to windows after a couple of minutes. EA's website is no help at all. Thought maybe someone around here might now how to fix it...

If it's a DirectDraw problem, then upgrading DirectX may be worth looking into. What version is she using?

It has DX8 installed. I emailed EA 3 days ago and haven't heard nothing yet. Wanted to see what they had to say about it....Damn Direct DRaw anyways...
