I must get a flat-screen, so that I can read for hours on end with no fear of such annoying pain. I hear they are just peachy. Anybody got recommendations of ones they like (the lucky ones!), preferably for something around 19" and under $1000? I could do the research on-line, but I'm always impressed by the hardware advice on this site.
My poor, poor eyeballs!

Ouch, my eyes hurt! Think I need a new monitor. I read on this thing for hours and hours, and boy are my retinas, not to mention my temples, killing me.

You can't go wrong with a Sony Monitor... and you shouldn't have any problems finding 19" ones under $1000.... I think their cheapest 21" is around $1000.

Wait, are you talking about an LCD(whole monitor is flat) or a FD Trinitron(normal monitor but screen is flat) monitor?

I recomend the Samsung syncmaster series. They are CRT monitors, but they are TRUE flatscreen, have great display. I have the lower end 17" and I like it. It's also recieved some very good reviews. I believe the 19" it supposed to be an incredable bang for the buck, not to mention a flat panel display...
