I think is has to do with the way that your eyes percieve the angled blocks of the 2 circles. Its your periphal vision which sees the circles moving and that is because of the angles. If the angles went the other way the circles would move the opposite I think.

I think this is right, but dont quote me on it :P

I might be wrong, but I think it's because the closer you get the faster the earth spins on its axis causing the rotating effect you see. Yup. Im pretty sure that's what it is. :)

I think it has to do with your eyes focusing on the dot as you move in and out. If you try focusing your vision about a foot past the monitor, and you don't focus when you look at the dot, the effect is lost.

It is hard to control the focus of your eyes, but it is like looking at the magic eye posters. You relax them to focus past what is in front of you.

The trick is : There is a hidden camera in the little black dot. And the person with the camera is watching us all look like idiots rocking back and forth in our chairs. He makes the design spin.

Proof:
Put your finger on the black dot and it doesnt work. That is because the camera dude can't see you rocking. :D :D :D

You think that is cool (which it is)? Check this out. Its 22kbs. Stare at the center white dot for 15-20 seconds, no cheating.....the more you focus on the white dot the better it works. Then look away at something. Try looking at your hand..............he he Reminds me of something a little mind altering..........know what I mean.

WOW ! That`s weird :;

Here's another one.Put your face about 3 inches from the monitor and look at this image like if you want to see throught.When you begin to see a 3D picture,pull away very slowly without loosing your focus because you will have to restart from the beginning.

Or try to climb up the stairs.

The last one is a little freaky

OK, small note, don't do the last one Diabolix did (Black on White image) and then do the one at the beginning (two Circles and the dot....aka, the straightjacket/hidden camera), it gets REALLY messed up and you have to sit there with your eyes closed where there is no light for a few minutes so the image stuck on your eyes will go away. :o
