Guns n' Roses anyone?

Post by mcbiff »

Does anyone here like GnR? If so, what is your favorite album/song?

I think they rock, even the "new" GnR. I bought a bootleg of a concert they did in Las Vegas on New Years Eve 2000/2001 and it is friggin' great. I'm definitely gonna go to their show here in Stockholm in December.

BTW, my favorite album is and Appetite for Destruction and my favorite song at the moment is Out Ta Get Me. This changes on a weekly basis though, they're all excellent.

EDIT: Wheee! Post #13, and it only took me 7 months. :)

They are alright. November Rain and Sweet Child 'O Mine are good songs.

Appetite for Destruction kicked ass.

I didn't care for the Use your illusions too much though but there were good songs on those too.

I heard that Slash is no longer their lead guitar player. I had no idea they were back together, but without Slash and the other original members, they probably don't sound the same they did 10 years ago.

It's true that Slash is out, and not just him either. The only original members left are Axl and Dizzy Reed (keyboards). The new crew is pretty good though, it almost sounds the same. Given some time I think it could turn out well. The only problem is the songwriting, for me the great songs are what make GnR so good. If Axl can't crank out good lyrics and melodies it doesn't matter if they can play or not.

What made November Rain so great was the video. Lots of tongue. :)

I saw Slash's Snakebite last night (opening for Billy Idol) and they SUCKED!!!!! OMFG it was lame. They closed with "It's So Easy" and "Mr. Brownstone" and it pointed up how sad the rest was. Slash looked like he was asleep. He has to know how lame this is.

As I walked past his tour bus, the door was open and I yelled, "You guys SUCK!!!" inside. The fans standing around didn't appreciate that, but no one tried to do anything cuz they knew they'd get a CAP BUSTED!

I liked the "Illusions" albums,but I liked 2 more than 1.

Yeah, fight the power! Down with bands that profit from their success!!! Obscurity is beauty, after all.

Actually, I like GnR a lot. They were a really good rock band. There are not many of those left. I miss rock and roll. All this progressive crap is for the birds. We need more Van Halen's, Led Zeppelins, and GnR's out there to make good, old fashioned, rock.

I miss rock and roll
LOL so do I. I was born in 1955, so I lived through the wild hippy 60's, then really got into rock & roll in the 70's (graduated in 1973). IMHO, some of the best music came out in the 70's and 80's. Now all we have is rap crap.
