SBLive 5.1 question

Post by MK888 »

I just setup a SBLive 5.1, and a Midiland 8200 system. The problem is that the Midiland decoder is not seeing AC3 input. It sees the digital in as PCM. I turned off the AC3 decoding on the live card, but still no good. The Midiland system autodetects AC3, or PCM (I hate autodetect) I get a quick second of AC# sound, and then it switches to PCM/Prologic. Anyone have any ideas?

Hmm, thats odd to hear. I have the Midiland 8200s and an original SBLive Plat and hooked 'em up though S/PDIF OUT. I hate to hear this cause I was wanting to get a 5.1 card sometime so I can truely take advantage of these speakers.

Maybe its a setting with the Live! Software that you missed? How do you have these hooked up? Optical or S/PDIF? Not that it matters, I don't think.
