Who admits to seeing Shrek ...

Post by news »

... without the kids ? Sweetie and I did this past weekend :) Really funny movie with great music! Eddie Murphy was his usual funny self. BTW, I hear the movie was five years in the making.

<< the movie was five years in the making. >>

Or do you mean the makers had to be 5 years old? :lol :P

Saw the preview and it looked interesting but I usually don't care for those animated movies. Obviously many love it though since it took in another 42mil this past weekend and over 100mil in 11 days. Not shabby at all. Glad ya liked it. :)

Well, ok, I admit it, I saw Shrek and thought it was a 4.2/5. :up

Why not a whole 5?
Well, humor seemed to be a little too scattered.
A Little too much romance for an familly/animation flick. :d runk
Biggest reason I didn't give it a five: Plot got predictable after about 1/4-1/2 through the movie!
(Which was pretty annoying, and if there wasn't more humor through the last 1/6-1/8th the movie, I might have almost left early. It almost makes you feel like you're wasting the expensive cost of a ticket when you can pretty much guess, scene for scene, what will happen next.)

But the Movie WAS funny! :lol (both Mike Myers & Eddie Murphy were perfect picks!)
The "parody"s of other movies were really cool....I bet everyone saw the Matrix Parody in the trailer, but it was really cool nonetheless.

:; I also admit, I went on opening day. Buy you could tell everyone wanted to see it, PERIOD. Because even though I went to the FIRST SHOWING (12:15p), a good 1/3rd of the theather was filled by the time the ACTUAL movie started (I never count the 15+ min of previews anymore.....after all, it's not like they're worthwhile or something  ). Normally when I go to the showing at noon (I like being early), the theather is either nearly empty or entirely empty. (It's creepy when I go and see a horror movie and I'm the ONLY person in the DARK theather! :E  :| ........ ;) )

Didn't see it without Wraithboy, but I would have if he really didn't want to. Great movie.
