Hammer,
I have an older Marantz,250 watts per channel, has the real wood top on it,the cord on this thing is halfinch thick!!My older bro brought it back from germany many moons ago, thing is it weighs prolly 50-75 lbs, that's not exaggerating!!He would probably be pissed if I sold it but it's just collecting dust!!Don't know if you wanted somethin that old, it was made in 1970 I believe!!

bigc I would like to get something a bit newer, preferably with at least Dolby pro logic (but I would really like to get digital as well). Thanks for thinking of me though. :)

Greg, I do have some interest in the Yamaha, the thing is I do not have real high end speakers, I have an Infinity rs1 bookshelf for my center, 2 Sony big floor standing type speakers for my right and left and a coupla Bose 141s for the rears, do you think I can get the excellent quality out of the system with those speakers?

Laputa I do have some interest, especially if you could get some prices. Thanks. :)

i dont see why not. I dont have the greatest speekers...the receiver is just super clear. no background noise at all...even with cheap wiring...it is impresive.

Hammer -

Check out this deal. This is a great receiver and they are reconditioned from Onkyo. It has everything for HT and the reviews are excellent.
