Why Don't we have...

Post by smb »

knock down drag 'em out , flame wars about abortion rights, gun control, republicans vs. democrats, conservatives vs. liberals, god vs. science, or any other "hot topic" of that sort here ?

NO, we have "intelligent" well thought out, intelligent topics, about "Mount Everest", "Zero Tolerance", "Spacial Science", and "PCA....The Family Effect".

Don't get me wrong, I really prefer it that way :D .

I think the riff-raff was filtered out during the numerous moves.

Don't forget about all the intelligent posts regarding the hy-jinks performed by our brothers to the north.

Pictures of members wearing leotards, posts about getting electrocuted trying to fix LED's, and such--very thought provoking.

:B

(I sure hope those crazy Canadians can make it too the party)

LOL, I thought you were saying we should come in here flaming away... I was getting my flame thrower out and setting it to maximum burn when I figured out what this was about. Oh well... pack this puppy away for later. ;) Maybe I'll head over to 3dnow.net and use it there. :D

Possibly because nobody ever changes their mind, and these "debates" are little more than rhetoric and screaming? :)

I prefer it quiet...

I mean the SHIFT key is RIGHT THERE!! Use your pinky for something other than playing with yourself for god's sake! I mean I realize that you are an ignorant $2 chinese whore just by your post but then you don't even use capital letters?? WHERE DID YOU GO TO COLLEGE? MISSISSIPPI SCHOOL FOR THE MENTALLY CHALLENGED?!?!?!

heheh, just kidding of course! ;) :D Feel better now? That was fun! :lol That's the one and ONLY thing I miss about Anand's. We used to have such good flame wars there. Now you can't even disagree withsome people and you get banned. What a hell-hole....

As riff-raff, I deeply resent the remarks contained in this thread...

sbp and I got into a little political wrangle around the time of the election, but it died out. I think we both decided that I was an amoral Hillary-sniffing tree-hugging bleeding heart leftist determined to rip the gun out of his cold dead hand after the U.N. takes over the United States and that he was a crypto-fascist imperialist lackey determined to launch the poor into space so we could have a flat tax and only white male radical christians who make over 200k per year and played golf at the "right" clubs could vote.

That's OK, I think, by both of us and pca is about being a place where we both belong. We have a "live and let live" community here and, from my viewpoint, a very good mix of young bucks and old farts who usually actually listen to each other. We also don't have know-it-all a**holes who get such a visceral thrill from seeing their own posts that there is no thread they can't stop crapping on. Spend 15 minutes at anand's and you know what I mean.

Best of all, we have our fearless leader, Blade. Thank you Blade, you da man!

it takes all kinds to make the world go 'round, and we definitely have ALL kinds here. But the one thing that sets it apart is a little tolerance for another point of view. Everyone's had different experiences, maybe seeing things from a different angle. And if you listen a bit, you might even learn something. Like the man said, I don't have to agree with what you say, just that you have the right to say it. The lack of flaming piles of crap seems painfully obvious after visiting certain other places. Refreshing to say the least.............

And don't forget the various theological debates that Tunis and I have had with others here!!! Nothing better than a good Evolution vs Creation debate (fight?) to get the blood burning and the flames rising :lol

But there is definitely a lack of flame wars happening here, which IMHO is all for the better. I don't care to go to other boards where anything I say will have some ass giving me grief because my opinion happens to differ from thiers.

Do you really think of yourself as riff-raff ?

My point was that we can have debates, and carry on decent conversations, whether or not someone believes in God, is republican or democrat, is pro choice, or a member of the nra, or are abunch of goofy nerds who think they know the universe is expanding.

I enjoy this forum at it's present state, even the old AGN/AGN2 sometimes erupted into a free for all, and no doubt in time it will grow, and there will always be a matchhead or two running around waiting to start a thing or two, but I'm hoping that civility is contaigous. :)
