What Online Car AUdio stores do you guys like? Reccomend?
Remember I am a Canuck eh...so Canadian sites preferred...
I am shopping for 1 12' SUb and an amp to run it.
any suggestions?
I don't want more than 1 sub for sure..so its either a single 10 or 12 incher...
amp I only need about 250 watts or so I dont want to rattle the doors just add some thumping good tight bass.
thanks for any info...
oh yea I just got a 1995 Grand Prix Se so I will be installing in that...

Oh yea I just read this about SOundhabit.com on the SOunddomain forums...
Thought I'd share it with you guys....I just emailed them about it here it is :
I just read this on Sounddomain.com about your site...if you do a search this is not the only major complaint about your site. You guys better improve your customer service record by a huge amount before I would consider buying anything online from you.
What is your response tho the BBB record?
I was considering buying the image dynamics/audiobahn sub amp combo until I read some of these reviews...
Also your shipping for Canadians is Way ! too expensive...
Dave
i just saw this in another forum think everyone sould read it.just so you know whats up.all this is copied from a guy named coop.he's the one who found everthing out but i think everyone sould know so here
A few days ago someone posted that they recieved a sub that was broken from soundhabit and he tried to contact soundhabit numerous times and never got a responce... i tried to help this guy and this is what i came up with..
BBB Customer Experience Record
Based on BBB files, this company has an unsatisfactory record with the Bureau due to a pattern of complaints.
The complaints brought forward to the company have been unanswered. Complaints are concerning non-delivery of the product and discrepancies with receiving refunds
This is just to let u know also there phone # is: (970) 667-6411

WW, you'll definetely need an amp to get the most out of the new speakers.
Having said that, I put my sub back into the boat car, and tested my Kicker Impulse 352xi (35x2/100x1) and my Carver m2040i (40x2/80x1) against each otehr.
The carver gave just a bit lower end power, but the kicker hit harder in the bandpass subs bass region, so I left it in as the sub amp.
Plus I don't want to stress the carver much (paid $55 for it
)
Needless to say the sub hits decently hard, but theres lots of bass to go around
I'm happy
The carvers gonna do rear channel duties powering Pioneer 5x7's (hey, I got them for $30
)

6x9's?!? oh gawd nooooo!!!!!
Honestly dude, don't even bother with putting speakers in teh rear of your car. not worth it. tell me something, when you listen to music, do you turn your back to the speakers? thought not, so no speakers in the rear of car
if you want good sounding music, you MUST go with component speakers. A half assed set of componets will still run circles around all but the best coax's. An added benifit of removed the rear deck is the holes they leave behind are perfect for allowing airflow from the sub in the trunk.
For a good site, I can recomend http://www.carmedia1.com. Extremly reputable and excellent prices. They also have international shipping. One last thing, before you buy any sub, give a good hard look at the image dynamics IDQ 12. Without a doubt the BEST sounding sub for the money and it still pounds loud too!

Phjorg you are probably right..but I already have the 6 x 9's.
They are good speakers..PPI's with swivel tweets.
Thinng is I bought these last summer for my old car cuz they woudn't fit a set of components without a huge custom install and I wanted to be stealth and keep things stock.
I still do ...I think the front doors on this car take 4 x 6's.
It sucks cuz I now have the PPI 6 x 9's and a set of 3.5 inch PPI's and they werent cheap to buy but I doubt I'd get much on trade in etc..even though they are hardly used...
I thoght of that today removing the rear speakers would allow the airflow from subs much better for sure...
I will think about components ...what size would they be?
How can you hide them? I know most are 5 or 6 inches and go in the door right? where can you hide the tweeters?
I dont have an alarm yet either..
thanks all

phjorg, you're full of shit.
Rear speakers are needed for rear fill, but nothing else.
Basically they're to play no bass, and no treble, only mids, as reflected sounds (such as in real life) will only come out in the midrange region, you won't hear treble and especially you wont hear bass.
The guy that recommended a sealed box for you is very correct.
Rock needs very punchy sound, and although my 10inch Orion in a bandpass is tight enough, I sure wouldn't mind hearing a nice Focal or Crystal in a sealed box
WW - I just diagnosed my system, and it turns out my Jensen amp is half dead, so out it went.
I'm keeping the carver and the kicker amps, so nothing for sale
You could get the tweets flush mounted in the upper A pillars in your car, where they usually go, unless you get kick panels....which would get away from your stealthy look a bit.
Or you could just stick wit hthe 3.5's in the front....
Theres not much diff between the 5.25's and the 6.5's, the 6.5's will go a bit louder and low, but that's it.

Actually Viper I am not using the 3.5's in this car, so far I only have my 6 x 9 's in the rear and 4 x 6's in the doors. They came with the car but are aftermarket speakers, the lady I got the car from had her son put some speakers in it. I havent taken them out yet to see what they are..they sound ok with deck power so far, but I definately need more bass...

WW, Find out what kind they are fast
If they're decent, you can keep them.
Is there space in your dash to mount the 3.5's?
