This is all it boils down to. Tristan is pissed that he paid 275 for 256 Megs of PC150 ram that he can now get for 90-100 bucks. Or he's trying to gank Cody for another stick by saying that he didn't get it. That is what i'm seeing. He needs to suck it up and take the loss. RAM is a very volitile part of a PC. It can and will shoot up and down very quickly as i've seen over the past 4 years. I mean damn back in August i paid 120 bucks for some good 128 Meg PC100 ram when now you can get Infineon 256 meg PC133 that runs 150+ for 90 bucks!

Speaking of which, I have just such a stick for sale right now for the wonderful price of $95.00 shipped USPS and insured (Compuwiz RAM that I no longer need thanks to going DDR :P ).

Figured this was as good a place as any to get someone to sell this to...after all...this is the For Sale/Trade Forum the last time I checked...NOT the "can I have some cheese with that whine forum" the last time I checked - LOL...

LMK if anyone is interested in getting this awesome Infineon RAM...

yea, its bullshit that tristan took so long in communicating to you. When I'm in a deal I sometimes forget to follow up to make sure that they got it etc. And if the other party doesn't email me saying there is a problem or that it got there etc.. I just ASSUME that it got there and the other person is happy. If someone emailed me 2-4months after I sent something saying it never came I'd tell them to go get bent. They should've contacted me right away if nothing came.

I have a feeling that if you had used Delivery Confirmation(Let that be a lesson to ALL) this would not be a problem--because he wouldn't be able to LIE about it not showing up. Thats my opinion of course(based on all the threads I just read).

I agree, CodyBear is in the right. Waiting that long is unreasonable on tristans part. If I paid for something, I'd be on the hunt within a week if it didn't show up.

I posted here and Sysopt because that is where the level headed mature traders are. I believe it was at Anands that the deal was made and so my post there also...cover my butt?? yep! in reading the posts you can see the difference and see what I mean between those that took the time to think before replying(level headed and mature) and those that just click and reply............

Thanks for the feedback both positive and negative.....my mind was made up before posting but I wasnt about to let someone drag me throught the dirt....

two things here

#1 I lost his information when I lost my chip in Sept and could not contact him or the deal would have been finished in Sept. I had to wait for him...as soon as he did contact me I fulfilled my end...granted it was 8 days later but it was also Christmas

#2 the first one that he returned to me defective was not sent delivery confirmation to him, just priority and he received it fine and so I saw no need to send del conf with the one sent in December. Did he get me for 2 sticks?? probably, I do not know if he received the one from Dec so I give him the benifit of the doubt and offered to send another...thats where this crap started...he wanted more and I am not going to give more...some have suggested I should not have sent the last one and they may be right but its done....if he does refuse it then I will have broke even ,either way...its over as far as I am concerned!!

dont post because it is no longer needed here....

I'll throw in my .02 also.

Being older and wiser (getting ripped off when I was young and foolish :D ), I can tell you from exprience that you have to keep RECORDS!

I have bought several pieces of hardware from this board over the years. I have a file folder with every email reguarding the deal, along with a receipt of a cashier's check and any other info from the deal. The reason to keep paper copies in case you have to format you drive in a crash and lose all your contacts. So codybear, in the future, improve your record keeping. Having all the paperwork will make the other guy look like an idiot who probably has none.

After reading all the replies, I can say that codybear did his best, even by shipping another stick in December. IMHO, I think that tristan318 did not like the fact that memory dropped like a rock the last 6 months. It sounds like he's trying to recoop by getting the extra stick (which he probably did get in December). There is also no excuse to wait 4 months before letting someone know if you received the goods.

tristan318: accpet the fact that you screwed up. Let it go and move on. You have no bases for asking anything more from codybear.
