How long does it take for the stats to update? I completed my first unit 70 minutes ago, and it's not there yet.

bitSlap, it may take 4 - 8 hrs. for the next update. They are pretty intermittant at best. Thanks again for coming aboard.

smb, sounds like the server is down, give it a couple hours and try it again. This happens fairly often, you'll get similar error when trying to reconnect to send finished work units and get new ones. And thanks for joining us!

OK we'll see if I have done this correctly. I figure that helping out medical research is probably better than determining if 64bit encryption is good enough for e-commerce or if we can find ET. So I will slowly retire my RC5 systems and switch them over to Folding@home.

Hey where do you check your stats in folding@home?

This project is fairly new so they havn't made it as easy to check stats as with SETI, but you can do a search here for individual stats....

or here for team stats...

I wouldn't bach anandtech yet, not till we have some padding hehe. Last night i finnished the foldmaster 900D, a duron 650@900mhz machine :) Now my main PC can ease up a bit.

I tried some on the programs to put the client on your systray, but i didn't have any luck getting them to work. Anyone else? If i can get it to do that, i can sneak it on my brothers pc lol.

I think the stats server is messed up (at least the overall team stats). It says we have 57 WUs, when we actually have 265. BTW good work cak. You are leading the pack.

I havn't tried using any programs to hide the client. I do use Folding Voyeur. http://www.zerothelement.com/hosted/fv.shtml

I just finished my first WU, it took me litle less than 1 hour. I'm surprised these WU's are small.

Does anyone know where to get a caching program for this ?

Well I think I got it going! (console) Im only a few minutes into this.

Just a few questions:

I must keep the dos box minimized to keep it running right?
Yeah I know.. dumb question. But If I do "x" it, can it be easily restarted without penalty?

Also, should I enable auto startup? Not sure what that is.. It wants to edit the registry. I'm guessing it loads on startup. Whats everyone else set at?

I've never been on seti@home or anything of such, so this is new to me.. Esepecially a dos box!! Those are a faint memories to me.

Hopefully the old P3 450 can help a bit :) I'll put it on my second machine if I find this really does not interfere with active cpu cycle as it sayes it woun't. A guy has got to play games ya know!

But anyway glad to be part of the team!
