I'm looking for a new card for my second system.I'll be using this for work, games when a friend comes over and I want to start doing some video editing.I was looking at the Radeon 64mb DDR(instead of AIW Radeon because I dont need the tv tuner)but I don't know anything about video capture and don't want to end up having to buy another card.Any suggestions on other cards or combination of cards??????

I am a GeForce fan but don't think you can go wrong with a Radeon either

The Radeon 64MB VIVO should do very well in video capture, and you are correct, you don't need the AIW if you don't need the TV-tuner. This is probably the best card for you, it got excellent 2D for your work, excellent 3D for your games, and the video capture is also quite good.

I don't think GeForce offer anything that will do video capture, even if you can find any, the quality will be extremely bad.

Read the review on 3D Prophet 4500 at anandtech?
It's definitely a great alternative to the geforce.

Why not a Kyro 2?

right now IMHO, the GeForce 2 GTS "Pro" is the best price/perfomance card. Most OC to Ultra levels, with all the benefits of thr GTS line. That being said, I'm dying to get a Kyro 3 when they come out, hopefully the K3 will have a T&L unit on board.

I don't believe that tile based rendering can work with any form of T&L.

I'm thinking of picking up the Kyro2 for my wife's system which currently has a V3 3000 in it.I'm interested in seeing the card in action. For the price I think it's worth taking a chance on.If it does well I might be upgrading my GTS 32mb to a K3(when it's out)instead of going the GF3 route. If it sucks I can always get a GTS pro or ultra for a decent price later on.

I like Nvidia cards but the price tag on the GF3 is a major turn off for me,and I'm a pretty hard core gamer.
