What's wrong with the new version of CS Split?
I can't connect to the server. Is the port 27015?

You'll see me there. I love CS. Oh and I have just discovered Nascar 4. Thats a great game is you like racing. It kind of sucks when you get people that only try and wreck others. That spoils the fun.

The accuracy of ALL the guns B L O W with a capital B, capital L, capital O, capital W. In DoD you actaully HIT what you aim at! Shocking, I know.

You do know that you have to aim using the crosshairs when you play CS, right? :) I honestly don't see anything wrong with the accuracy of the guns in CS. Is there too much recoil for your liking or something?

No, there isn't anything wrong with the aiming, or the spread of the guns. They are modelled fairly realistically and don't always hit the _exact_ mark when shooting. Day of Defeat is quite cool, but the guns are super accurate. No chance of missing as long as you have the xhairs over the target. I am waiting for DoD to get a bit more polished before it takes any more of my time.

The only 2 things about CS that bother me are these:

1) The severe problem of not killing the enemy with high power rifles from 5 feet away.

This happens for too often. Just the other day, I was playing on the map Militia. Using the AWP I had grabbed off a body, I was covering the side sewer hole. One of the enemy walked past in the sewers, so I dropped down behind him, zoomed in as he turned around, and shot him point blank in the chest. And he lived!!! Now I realize the AWP has been tuned down a bit, but a .50cal sniper round to the chest from 5 feet away will kill an elephant, let alone some Seal with Kevlar body armor. If you are going to go for realism, let's do it right.

2) The Counterterrorists have to buy the defuse kit.

Why? Do the T's have to buy the bomb? No. So why would the CT's have to buy it, at $200 a pop no less. If your team is doing badly, you often don't have the cash to spend on an item you may not get to use anyway. It just seems a little unfair to me. IMHO it should be standard equipment on the bomb maps, just like the bomb is standard for the T's.

And that is the "Official Opinion of The Wraithlord". Brought to you as a public service by Wraithlord Inc. :D

Yes, but must I remind you that you were 0 and 55 in DoD last night? :)
1) The severe problem of not killing the enemy with high power rifles from 5 feet away.
Bingo. Just about every single gun won't kill anyone anymore. In the last version, I could kill people with the colt and Siig rifle no problem. Now, I have ot unload a clip and a half into them at 15 feet before they will ever die. Its total bs when you have to spend 40 rounds to kill someone and you cna only buy 90 for a gun.

And the guns are not accurate at all. I think that is evidenced by your example Wraithlord. Chances are your shot got scored as leg damage even though you were aiming right at his chest. See my problem here?

JMAN--
Its not a matter of recoil, I can deal with that. Its a matter of the bullets not hitting where the stinking crosshairs (yes I use them ;) ) are, especailly at long distances.

Sounds like someone is just a bad aim. I hit things perfectly fine? If you aim towards the top of the body (i.e head and neck) you can get kills in way less than half a clip. Plus you can drop weapons and pick others up. It's a little more realistic. You're not going to carry a trunk full of ammo, so you have to learn to pick up other weapons..i love that.

Sure, that must be it. A new version comes out and suddenly I can't aim. Why didn't I think of that?

I thought they didn't change the accuracy/power of the rifles at all... Am I misinformed?
Wraith: Were you moving at all when you shot? Maybe it could have hit somewhere other than the crosshairs because you were moving.
I agree with the second point you make, Wraithlord, but I think it would be less fun if you died every time you got shot in the chest with a rifle. It would make the good guns way too good, and it would become sorta obnoxious to never have a chance to get a shot off at someone shooting you because they have a good gun. Scratch this point if you were only talking about the AWM and not the SIG/Colt/AUG/AK :)
