??? Help... I am trying to get a new Motherboard and don't know which type to pick... i815, i815E or i815EP?
I know i815E and the i815EP is the newer version, but what's the difference between them?
Why is Intel confusing me? What's the difference between i815/i815E/i815EP chipset?!

I Think the only difference between the 815e and the EP is that the 815EP has all the built in stuff(video/audio) ripped out of it or turned off.. so no onboard audio or video with the EP.

I've got a Asus CUSL2-C its the 815EP. Its just a motherboard with ata/100 onboard. No video or sound. The CUSL2(815E)has video or sound or both onboard. I have never believed in that onboard stuff since i'm always upgrading. It can lead to problems when upgrading and such if the bios sucks and won't let you disable that stuff.

Most users of the CUSL2 series have the onboard video/sound version (cusl2 and NOT cusl2-c) and have NO problems upgrading or overclocking. You can check out more at http://www.cusl2.com, they have a good user base on that board over there.
My biggest gripe about the i815 is the momory limitation of 512MB max. Guess intel didnt think people would be using this board for servers or high end stations. Boy were they wrong.

last I cheaked the cusl2 was still Faster the nthe cusl2-c. it does cost about $15-$25 more but if speed is your thing it is the intel board to get.

Hey Stoopid did i ever say the bios on the CUSL2 sucks. I said some bioses suck when it comes to onboard stuff such ans video and sound. Reread it before you go flaming me.

Uhhh that above quote out of my previous post was a general post and not aimed at any board. I've worked with motherboards back in the P166 days that had onboard crap and no way to disable any of it. The CUSL2 series by far is the best FC-PGA board you can get for Intel chips.
