It would start to play and then just stay on the FBI waning screen. We stared at the FBI screen for about 5 minutes and then nothing. First time I took it back to Blockbuster, they game me another copy. It had the same problems. I took it back again and asked what the deal was. They said they knew about the problem. I was like, THEN WHY DID YOU LET ME RENT IT AND THEN HAVE TO BRING IT ALL THE WAY BACK....TWICE?! They had no answer and wouldn't give a additional free rental, but they did let me choose another title. Time for a recall?

I've rented a few DVDs that either wouldn't play (skipped badly, etc) or had an area or two that it'd skip over. It's VERY annoying too as you're trying to watch it, it'll start repeating/skipping then you see the #s jump to a scene way ahead (GRRR!!! :( ). Many times I've then popped the DVD out and cleaned it, which often helps but doesn't always cure everything with the scratched disc. I'm guessing that rented DVDs will typically have a short lifetime due to most peoples carelessness with them. Some look really bad, lots of scratches, etc. My DVD player is also not a real expensive model and somewhat of an early generation type,so maybe bad DVDs will play better with newer or costlier players?
