That's the thing I love about the Humanscale, it's simple, yet offers adjustments. The entire back supports you with I guess sort of like a counter weight mechanism. You tilt back and it's pushing back against you so it maintains whatever degree you want to hold. The arms, while they don't move up and down individually, they do tilt inwards individually. Moving them up and down is extremely easy, no button that you have to push. You kind of grab it from the front, pull up a bit to unlock and then move it up and down. It's hard to explain, you'd just have to see it. It's a chair you just have to sit in and experience, it's definitely not like any other chair :)
