I was thinking about overclocking my tbird and i was just curious if anyone has done it. I read an article that you can use a pencil to fill in the L1 bridges but they are so small i dont see how it could work, even with a mechanical pencil. Is there anything else that would work too?

I used a magnifying glass and a #2 pencil. It was real simple just make sure you do clean straight lines and you should be alright.I was leary of doing it at first but after doing it it's really a piece of cake.Make sure you have proper cooling before overclocking though.

The three main methods I have seen used are #2 pencil, mechanical pencil, and rear window defogger repair kit.

mechanical pencil is better actually cause it has more conductive stuff in it. :) yea its easy jstu pout it on the table and be steady. I have done quite a few and I dont have steady hands and no probs here. :)

Of course I've overclocked my T-bird! :) I had it unlocked by compuwiz1 though.. He used the rear window defogger repair kit method. My birdie is a 1.1ghz that does 1.2ghz (9x133) at 1.775v with a 27cfm fan or 1266 (9.5x133) with a delta 38cfm and same voltage. haven't tried higher really.

My t-bird is an unlocked 1.2 bird. I just set it to 9.5x137 (1.3 GHz @ 1.775v) and away we go! That is after having tried about 2000 other multiplier, coreV and FSB combinations!!........arrrrrrgh. :)

thanks Thomas. Yes, it was a bit of a struggle there for awhile with all RMA nonsense and the like but it's up and "smokin'" now. Using a Taisol CGK742092 hs, Sunon 60x25 and some arctic silver. I have a Delta but I'm looking for stability AND quiet with this rig. Those things are just too darn loud.
