Show full URL address in Firefox

Post by FlyingPenguin »

A few versions ago, Firefox stopped showing the entire URL in the URL bar. It doesn't show the "HTTP://" prefix anymore, which has been driving me crazy.

On Security Now this week, someone wrote in with a tip on how to restore the full URL address:

- In the URL bar type: about:config
and press enter to open the configuration menu.

- In the search box, search for "browser.urlbar.trimURLs" (without the quotes).

- Set this to FALSE

I never noticed that but I checked it and all you need to do it move the curser right behind the URL and you'll see the HTTP://
