I just don't see the benefit, maybe a partial buy of their graphics department, but as a whole, I don't see how this benefits AMD at all. Losing the x86 license would be another big deal. It might not even be allowed unless it doesn't lose its x86 license. Otherwise it creates a giant monopoly overnight.
When all else fails, replace the user.

I read some stuff on this in the financial web and it doesn't appear that there would be much in it for Samsung. I think amd loses its x86 license if sold.
