Thrudds is a great tool - you can enter where you are and specify a range. If you can get to the Zaonce/Witchhaul route grindingg rares, even 4 at a time, is much more $. There was a post somewhere on the FB ED boards where some guy was flying w/o insurance and ended up back in the freewinder. Someone posted a response on how to go from the freewinder to a base T6 in like 2 hours. http://www.elitetradingtool.co.uk/

The NPCs come in different levels, and have gotten more agressive since the last patch - remember if you can outrun it you don't have to fight it.

First step is to get to Zaonce I guess. :-)
Thanks for the tip.

Those rares routes are pretty good, but check out the distances between some of the stations. Might take a while to get to the locations with a base sidewinder. Check that website for something nearby. The NPC interdictions are going to happen. The best way I've found to avoid fighting is to submit to the interdiction by throttling to zero. When you get to normal space, put more power into engines and start boosting away... Your FSD cool timer works much quicker this way than when you fight the interdiction. As soon as it's ready, start to jump away... Don't worry about being lined up with your target, just stop moving when the charging is up so you can jump away.

NPC's have just names. Real people have CMDR in front of their names. They also appear as "hollow" dots on the radar. But yeah if you're in solo, it's definitely an NPC.

Good to know. Thanks!
Yeah, I've already experienced running out of fuel in the middle of nowhere.
I'm just trying to learn things the hard way it seems. LOL

When you can move up and get a fuel scoop, it really helps because you can top off at lots of nav beacons. I remember running into a station with just enough juice left to dock. Another night I'd killed two npc's in solo, hull was at 23%, and I devided that was a good time to show my wife how you landed on a system. full of hostile npc's . Boom.

Patch is glitchy. Autodock just killed my Asp in a station - well, station killed it after 2 malfunctions - autodock flew me into side of station, I pulled back, then it seemed normal, took me inside station and crashed me into landing pad and tangled me up then station killed me for loitering. Was trying to fix it so I didn't tab out :( 1 mm + credit plus 50 rares down the drain. Submitted tickets, so we'll see. PAtch also disappeared the skins I had purchased.

They were prompt in response to my ticket about autodocking death and credited me with about $2mil :) I actually did some asteroid mining last night in my Asp (not really that nimble for scooping). Found a planet with metallic rings (learned that ice rings are away from the planet, metal rings closer, lol), pretty cool flying there but not much $$ for the time. I have my Asp set up with 96T cargo for rares, basically running the Rajukru diamond and triangle circuits. The last run back to Leesti with a full load usually pays ~1.5 mil, + I sell stuff along the way - comes out to about `$1m/hr. I also got and advanced discovery scanner which has half paid for itself already. When you jump into a system you just scan it and if it's unexplored you get up to $10k when you sell the data. I am really liking the Asp - with a 27/22 jump range and a scoop, it's really easy to get around. Now that the repair costs are way down, I've been fighting the interdictions for practice, and I'm slowly learning. I only play solo with my Asp, do a little regular in my Cobra because insurances is still pretty high on the Asp, like 1.4mm. Scale of the game still blows me away. I got a copy of voice attack but haven't set it up yet. Still haven't figure out how to use all the controls aside from flying and fighting, but I'm having fun. Anybody want to play with Wings, lmk we can set something up.

I finally earned enough to get into an Adder with all the upgrades I wanted.
Started to run rares in it and earn enough to get a nicely tricked out T6 so now I've got the Adder for rares, the T6 for regular stuff (I'm looking at that run that FSU posted above but I'm not sure which stations) and I'm looking for something small to get around quickly to my different ships, depending on what I'm interested in doing.

I'm still trying to figure out where to settle so I can do regular runs & not go far, as well as rares if I'm in the mood. Eventually I want something for Bounty Hunting the bulletin board stuff for fun.

MrFSU wrote:Beryllium in one port (forget which) yields 1300-1450cr per ton profit at other port and return trip with Imperial Slaves yields 500-640cr on the way back. 5.65ly jump and stations are 38 and like 74ls away from jump point. Less than 10 min round trip time. In my T7 I was getting roughly 420k per round trip (216t of cargo). Station names escape me but use those distances as a guide. One is called like blaawd or something ridiculous like that. Other one starts with a T. I'll post here again when I get back into the game and see them.
I'm still waiting on those station names and systems. ;)

Not sure where the Godel ring is, maybe saturn in Sol? I can't get there anyway since I don't have a permit. Need to be a founder or have faction built up. Only cannisters I've found floating are toxic waste, secret messages, and the pieces of an Imperial Clipper blown into about 99 pieces.
