Firefox 36 will likely break your add-ons

Networking and broadband talkabout. Need help with that new router or setting up a network?

Just DL'd it on my 64 bit Win7 desktop and likin' it so far. What's extremely cool about it is that it automatically keeps your present FF homepage, add-ons and bookmarks.
It only installs on a 64 bit OS as I tried it first on my Win8.1 32 bit laptop, won't install.

Now, is it as secure as FF? That's the question.

That means it's using the Firefox Profile, which is good. So all my backup and maintenance tools will still work on it.

Okay, just installed it on my lappie, and works fine. All four above mentioned add-ons work fine. Does feel a bit snappier, subjectively at least.

I'm liking it, except that touchpad scrolling on my lappy feels sluggish, but I probably need to update my touchpad driver. Works fine with mouse wheel.

Be aware that not ALL settings transfer over from Firefox - looks like some settings are a different variable in Waterfox. For instance, I have network Proxy disabled in Firefox (to prevent a malicious proxy from messing around with FF). By default FF uses the Windows proxy settings, and apparently so does Waterfox. There were a couple of other settings that weren't set the same as FF.

Had to go back to Firefox on my workstation. Still using it on the laptop.

I'm not sure what it is, but it gets laggy sometimes requiring me to close and re-open. I'm running exactly the same add-ons on the laptop as on the workstation, and I only run four add-ons (NoScript, FlashBlock, Tree Style Tab and URL Shrink Easy).

Even tried a refresh of the Mozilla profile (pretty much wipes everything except your bookmarks and stored passwords) and it still did it. Went back to Firefox and it's okay.

I noticed that Waterfox was constantly warning that it was loading pages slowly and offering to disable add-ons, but I have no issues with these add-ons in Firefox and they are all rock solid add-ons I refuse to live without.

I may not be noticing any issues on the laptop only because I don't use it as much.

Only other possibility is Waterfox may have an issue running under limited rights. I run all my browsers with limited rights using DropMyRights.

Pretty much abandoned Waterfox. It has mouse wheel scrolling lag issues. Particularly bad on a laptop with a touchpad, but also on a desktop with a wheel mouse.

Feels great to go back to Firefox.

Yep, I quit using it a few months back. Just seemed slower than regular FF.

That's odd. Mine works smooth as butter. I have NO LAG whatsoever on WaterFox.
