Crap! I had NO idea there was a 64bit version of VLC. Gotta grab that!
Thanks!!
Handbreak, MakeMKV, BlueRay
I just tried this workaround. It worked when I tried it with Disney's Maleficent:

I was able to make a 1.6 gig MP4 image of the movie, but I could not use your settings on this old machine (Intel mobo with 8 gigs of ram, 2 Xeon 2.8 GHz cpu's). In your pic, you showed a setting called "Large File Size". My copy of Handbreak did not have that setting. I experimented by encoding only a 1 minute segment of the movie with some different settings. I ended up using Normal which took ~5 hours to encode. Looks great using Windows media player as a MP4 format. Not so good using VLC. Need to figure out why it looks like crap in VLC.
If I used your settings, it would take 16 hours to encode.
