Must not have ever traveled via airplane or that thing would have been detected years ago.
Still, it's hard to fathom not being aware of that thing in your arm.

Yeah, I'm a little skeptical. How do you not realize that something that large is in your arm?? Weird.

seems he did know about it for the last 10 yrs., but was told to let it be, ~
A decade or so ago, his arm set off a metal detector at a courthouse. An X-ray showed a slender object the length of a pencil, but since it caused no pain or hardship, Lampitt was told to let it be.
I guess doctors took the "if it works, don't fix it" route,,!

Well I can I say I had a 3 inch splinter in my knee for a month and didn't know it till the swelling went down and could see ends wanting "out". I pulled it out myself (with whiskey and a sharp blade in the tub) but got it.
Had it been along a non flex joint it could perhaps still be there till this day and not know it...
