looking for / at a new laptop - looking to drop around $400 like it to be a windows 7 unit 15 inch or larger !

I would steer clear of Lenovo. Most of the people I know who got one had issues.

Nothing wrong with Win8 - actually I'd recommend Win8 at this point since Win7 is end of support in 5 years. Just follow my instructions here and Win8 will look and feel like Win7:

I bought one of these USB Wifi NICs couple of years ago for my laptop. It has incredible range. Great reviews and only $14

Great for war driving since it has a detachable antenna.

I have one similar to this - with dual antennas and a cord - use it in my garage to put the antenna in the window facing the house - on mine the antennas unscrew so it fits in the lappy case nicely.

eww a Toshiba. Nothing but quality issues with them. One of the worst manufactured brands out there right now.

learned today its shipped . problem with ordering from Toshiba direct is it had to be shipped to the address connected to your charge plate. this maybe with other company's now to. I really wanted to have it shipped to my daughters home. so we could drive down to florida . but per fed-x it's not arriving till next Tuesday . the unit being shipped right from the factory in china it also missed the cutoff for last night from CHONGQING CN.
