We're close to the bottom. Highest speed near me for about 30 minutes is 60.

Same here. I take a 4 lane road (2 lanes on each side) to work, and the posted speed limit is 55. I would guess that about 90% of the cars I see, including myself, are driving about 70 (hey I'm driving with the flow of traffic). Another 5% are going 75+. The remainder crowd is at 55-60.

I know that the average posted speed for my state is shown higher than it really is as 65 is the max posted speed on any freeway. Most 2 lane highways are 55 so the average can't be 65.

that's what hubby says, ~ he's going with the flow : )

only place we drive, where we have to really be careful, is further up north { when I visit my folks }. the State Troopers are ready and waiting,, especially driving through "towns", where the limit is usually 35mph.

I have to say 75 is normal on freeways here for speed. but like darcy I have been hit with a ticket before going into a small town were its a downside of a hill as you first come into it. your going from a 55 mph posted . to a 35 mph posted speed trap . try and see how fast you can slow down when its a really steep decline and have like a 10 of a mile maybe to do it in. talking about a speed trap going into Metamora , michigan :(
the Last time I was Talking to myself . I got into such a heated argument . that is why I swore I never talk to that guy again. you know what it worked now no buddy talking to me. :help
