Evil, as our resident automotive industry expert, what do you think happened here? Do you think someone at GM purposely kept the same part number?

Do you think someone at GM purposely kept the same part number?
No doubt in my mind. At some point, people at GM realized the problem, said "oh s***!" and changed the part in production while keeping the same PN.
I've never seen that happen before, a new part always has a different PN.


The bad part about all of GMs new recalls is that now that we, the tax payers own GM, does that mean more loss to us again?

Actually the Fed no longer owns any shares of GM. The last of the stock was sold off in December. Just in time I'd say :)
