We're flying out on feb. 19th to Fort Lauderdale for a cruise to float around for 10 days in the sun.

It's around 0 F this morning. Sun is obscured by clouds and looking at the trees, wind is 10-15 mph. 90% snow cover. Local schools are closed for the 7th day in a row because of weather. They aren't built for this kind of sustained cold, and it's a rural county and roads are still drifting over.

So I'm thinking, my wife has never seen the florida keys, hmm. Maybe we should just slip down the road early......

Unfortunately, I just had to fill up my oil tank. Cost me about $550. Last time I filled it was around Xmas. I live on a ridge in an old house and when it's around 0 and windy the heat can't keep up. We keep it at about 65 max.

I've just been there a couple of times. Bahia Honda State Park is very nice. I was on a scuba trip down that way about 6 years ago and spent a day snorkeling and lying in the sun at this park. http://www.floridastateparks.org/bahiah ... photo=3314

Reno: I hear you - I just got over a nasty sinus infection over the holidays, followed by a tooth that went south and got pulled 2 weeks ago.
