Jayne Mansfield's Car

Post by darcy »

"Jayne Mansfield's Car"
In 1969 Alabama, grizzled WW II vet Jim braces for a visit from his ex-wife's now-widowed husband, who's bringing her body from England to bury. Soon, the tumult of the era, the changing South and generational clashes play out in Jim's home.

this movie suggestion popped up @ me while i was searchin' for movies to add to my queue, so i rented it.

it is,,, unusual. i don't know how else to describe it; but we did like it; the acting was very good and Robert Duvall was top notch : )

{ still haven't a clue why they chose that name for the film,, }.

anyway, 'tis a drama, and here is the cast:

Robert Duvall
John Hurt
Billy Bob Thornton
Kevin Bacon
Ray Stevenson
Frances O'Connor
Robert Patrick
Katherine LaNasa

2012 film / rated R / 2 hrs long
{ don't have the kiddies in the room while viewing,, }

Jayne Mansfield was an American actress in film, theatre, and television, a nightclub entertainer, a singer, and one of the early Playboy Playmates. She was a major Hollywood sex symbol of the 1950s and early 1960s.
